About the role

The Head of Financial Governance plays an instrumental role in strengthening our Accounting Services & Transformation Department.

At present we have c.70 members in the Department spread throughout the Europe, the US, and Canada reporting to the Interactive International and North America Controllers. The Departments and its internal and external customers and stakeholders operate primarily on GMT and EST time zones.

What you’ll be doing

  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of payroll related activities (including journal processing, balance sheet reconciliations, audit queries) for a range of global entities.
  • Assist with analytical review of payroll related costs (comparisons versus budget / forecast) and factors driving variances.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional team to maintain and develop Finance process requirements.
  • Build, maintain and leverage positive working relationships with HR and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in continuous improvements of payroll related activities.
  • Engage in ad hoc related projects to enhance broader Finance outputs.
  • Establish operation of a Finance Governance Framework that is Robust and to the satisfaction of Senior Finance Leadership of Bally’s Corporation
  • Develop, oversee and coordinate the Financial Reporting Risk governance framework ensuring Business Unit compliance across the Business (i.e., Finance processes in all in scope functions and legal entities).
  • Risk mitigation within large change activity such as acquisitions, outsourcing arrangements, and emerging business issues. 
  • Promote good standards of Financial governance.
  • Liaise with reporting entities to ensure a robust and harmonised internal financial control environment.
  • Report on Financial governance activities as needed and appropriate to the Senior Finance Leadership.
  • Liaise with third parties such as external auditors and regulatory bodies to provide data and support(s) to allow assessment of the control environment, and permit controls-based testing.

What you’ll need

  • Strong accounting/control background.
  • Qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA (or International equivalent) with a minimum of five years post qualification experience preferably out of practice (retail and service industries are advantage).
  • Ability to work flexibly in an ever-changing work environment with good excel skills.
  • Significant proven experience of operating at Senior Finance level
  • Proven results in raising and maintaining high performance in direct and indirect teams’ structures. Either through direct line management or through applying influence.
  • Good written and verbal English language skills essential.
